Yvonne Marie Simmons, 61, was called home to be with the Lord on Sunday, June 20, 2021 from complications of COVID.
Yvonne was a long time resident of Great Expectations group home in Leesburg, Florida. She loved working at the workshop, going out for cheeseburgers and bowling with her friends. She had a special connection and love for each caregiver she had. She loved watching Wheel of Fortune, Lawrence Welk on tv, and of course Pittsburgh Steelers football. She spent time with her family during holidays, singing songs and watching movies.
She was preceded in death by her father, Ronald L Simmons and is lovingly survived by her mother, Barbara Simmons; brother, Ronald R Simmons; sister, Colleen Hoffer; nieces, Katie Duharte and Megan Hoffer. Yvonne was a beloved angel and she will be deeply missed. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Yvonne's name to Great Expectations of Lake County, 36409 Via Marcia, Fruitland Park, FL 34731.
