Obituary

Winston H. Ambrose, 88, joined his recently departed wife, Joyce, in heaven on July 2, 2012.  An Army veteran of World War II.  He graduated from Alton College and received a Master of Divinity from South Baptist Seminary, and a PhD in Hebrew and Greek from the University of Maryland.  He was an ordained Baptist minister and served churches in Illinois and Maryland.

He was in charge of developing Christian literature for the Southern Baptist Church located in Washington, D.C.  He later taught math and architecture on the high school level in Silver Springs, MD.

Upon retirement, he moved to Clermont, FL and taught Bible class at First United Methodist Church for many years.  He as a member of Kiwanis; past president of the Clermont Kiwanis and elected Kiwanis Lt. Governor for the state of Florida.  He was a creator of the program "Bringing up Grades" in the Groveland Elementary School.  He also volunteered at the South Lake Hospital for many years.

He leaves a sister, Gwen Bache and a niece Evan Lund, both of Maryland



A Celebration of Bud' life will be held at 10AM Friday, July 13, 2012 at the First United Methodist Church, Clermont, FL.  Interment will be private at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL.  The family suggests in lieu of flowers memorials to the church.
