Obituary

William D. O'Donnell Jr., 77, of Clermont, FL passed away Tuesday, January 17, 2017 at home under the care of Hospice and his family. Bill was born on June 13, 1939 in Saginaw, MI, the son of William and Anna O'Donnell Sr. and was the oldest of 12 siblings.

He served in the United States Airforce during the Vietnam War as a Jet Engine Mechanic Airman 1 st class from 1961-1965 based in Sacramento, California. After service, he moved back to Saginaw, MI where he raised his family and had a long successful career with Saginaw Steering Gear. After retirement, he moved to Houghton Lake, MI and in 2000 moved to Clermont, FL to be near family and grandchildren.

After moving to Clermont, Bill and Norma were faithful members of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church and actively participated in their retirement community.

Bill cherished being with his family & friends and lived life to the fullest. He had a strong work ethic, positive attitude and was a true fighter in every sense. He loved fixing things and had hands of gold. He would always greet you with a warm smile. Bill enjoyed lunch on the boat with his wife and fishing with his sons and grandchildren and "Lady" his favorite grand dog. Bill also enjoyed golfing and shaking it up on the dance floor. He will always be remembered for his famous saying "Every Day is a Great Day", and he meant it every time.  He was a good man and a blessing to many. He will be dearly missed.

Bill was preceded by his brothers, Thomas O'Donnell, James O'Donnell, Harold

O'Donnell and John O'Donnell; sisters, Margaret Hatch and Jan Vaughn.

Bill is survived by his loving and faithful wife of 55 years, Norma Jean; sons, Mark O'Donnell and Thomas O'Donnell; daughter-in-law, Denise O'Donnell; grandchildren, Drew O'Donnell, Ryan O'Donnell and Nicole Lynch; brothers, Pat O'Donnell, Michael O'Donnell and Dan O'Donnell Sr.; sisters, Mary Ciucci and Barbara Schweitzer.

Bill leaves behind many adored nephews and nieces.
