IN LOVING MEMORY OF
William "Bill"
Norman Gamble
November 5, 1946 – February 3, 2021
William Norman Gamble
November 5, 1946 – February 3, 2021
Bill was born to Ivadell and Charles Gamble in Detroit, Michigan. Following high school, in May of 1967, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. During his 25 years with the Marines he rose through the ranks to Lt. Colonel. While serving as a fighter pilot, he graduated Top Gun flight school. During his military career he attended the University of Western Florida, where he received his Bachelor's degree.
Once retired, Bill went to work in the private sector as an I.T. consultant. Following his I.T. career, he worked in the local public school system as an engineer. Bill's love of hockey led to him and his wife becoming host parents to local hockey players for eight years.
Upon his arrival in Florida he enjoyed helping others and volunteering for Faith Neighborhood Center. Some of Bill's favorite hobbies included hunting, fishing, and traveling abroad with his wife. Most of all Bill adored his 5 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. He spent many days in his large garden with each of the grandchildren.
Bill is survived by his wife of 53 years, Sue; son Tom (daughter-in-law Maryann); daughter Kristy (son-in-law Ric); grandchildren Jordan (Zach), Emily, Kayden, Lauren, and Trey; and 4 great-grandchildren Mariah, Aaliyah, Weston, and Addisyn.
Loving you was one of the best decisions of our lives. A great man who will be missed by many.
