William Joseph Murphy was born on November 4, 1937 in Richmond Hill, New York. His parents were John W. Murphy and Helen A. (Klima) Murphy. He graduated from John Adams High School in 1955. On April 4, 1964 he was married to his wife Kathleen Gisonna in Our Lady Of Perpetual Help R.C. Church .
They lived in Levittown, New York for four years and moved to South River, New Jersey in August 1970. They raised their four children in South River. He was a communicant of St. Mary's of Ostrobrama R.C. Church in South River for 31 years and was a member of the Holy Name Society.
Bill was a refrigeration-diesel mechanic. He worked for Sea-Land, shipping and containerization company for thirty-six years. He was a member of the NYSA-ILA Local 1804-1. He retired in October of 2001.
After his retirement, he moved to Davenport, Florida, Polo Park Community. He was a member of the CAP program for several years. In 2006, the Diocese Of Orlando established a new Catholic parish, St. Faustina. and was a "Pioneer Member" of this brand new parish. He was an active volunteer from the beginning date and enjoyed being able to "lend a hand" with the various projects being undertaken in order to help move the parish along. Bill was well known for his passion
of taking pictures. He became known as the "Unofficial Photographer" for the parish!
Knights of Columbus Council 1427 was formed on February 3, 2007. Bill was appointed
as the first "Grand Knight" of this council. He was also a Brother of Assembly 3202 4th
Degree, Celebration.
He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Kathleen, his children William G. Murphy
and spouse Matilde; Michael J. Murphy and fiancé Kristen Breese; Gerard Murphy and spouse Rhonda Murphy; Marie-Rose Pecoraro and spouse Ken Pecoraro. He was pre-
deceased by his daughter Julie Murphy and his beloved Aunt Lee Klima. He is survived by his 10 loving grandchildren as well as his brother John W. Murphy and spouse Loretta Murphy.
Bill will be sorely missed by his family, friends including his "Little Buddy" Spike!
