Obituary
William "Duke" Moore, III, 22, of Clermont, FL passed away Saturday, April 16, 2011. Billy was born on July 17, 1988 in Syracuse, NY, the son of Bill and Lynne Moore, Jr.. Billy started his education at Moravia Central School, Moravia, NY and moved to Florida at the age of 13. He was an honor graduate at Montverde Academy in Montverde, FL and went on to attend the University of South Florida in Tampa studying architecture, where he became a fraternity brother at SAE. He worked for Bright Future Electric, in Ocoee, FL along side his dad and became a great electrician. Most recently, Billy found his passion at the Harborage Marina where he became a vital part of that community; servicing boats, being a second mate, and revitalizing the Bayboro Caf, in St. Pete, FL. He also just completed courses for his Captain's license and was on his way to sail to the keys. It was at the Harborage Marina where he felt at home and dearly loved by all.
Billy loved to be a part of the outdoors, fishing and hunting with his Dad, Uncles and Cousins; he will always be remembered for his connection to the water, his passion for life and his free spirit that he shared with all.
Billy is survived by his parents, Bill and Lynne of Clermont; paternal grandfather, William Moore, Sr. and wife, Joan; maternal grandmother, Patricia Hopkins Hemmings and husband, Richard; as well as many loving aunts, uncles, cousins and family and friends. Billy was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Virginia Baylor and maternal grandfather, Lauren Hopkins.
A memorial Service will be held on Saturday, April 23rd at 11:00am at the Harborage Marina in St. Petersburg where immediate family will sail at noon!
A memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, April 26 at 5:30pm at the Church of Montverde at 17409 8th Street, Montverde, FL 347565
Memorial Services will be held in Dresserville, NY sometime in May where he will lay to rest.
