Obituary

William James Monaco, M.D. "Bill" 69 formerly of Chicago passed away Monday July 25th in his home in Lady Lake, Florida. Bill was born September 13, 1952 at Mt. Sinai Hospital in Chicago to John and Nancy (Chuffo) Monaco. He is survived by his wife, Sharon Monaco (Martin) son Daniel Eggert, sister Mary Monaco Gjonola (Ken) and brother John Monaco (Karin)

Bill graduated from Ridgewood High School in Norridge Illinois with the class of 1970. He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from Grinnell College in Iowa in 1974. He then attended medical school at the University of Illinois and graduated in 1978.

Dr. Monaco practiced Internal Medicine in private practice in Oak Park, Illinois before moving to Berlin Wisconsin in 2011 to work for Berlin Memorial Hospital in Berlin, Wisconsin. He retired in 2019.

Dr. Monaco was known to his colleagues, nurses and patients as a compassionate and caring physician.

He enjoyed golfing, as long as he stayed away from the sandpits and water, fishing, boating and spending time with friends and family.

Funeral services will be held Monday, August 1, 2022, 12pm, at Becker Funeral Home. The family will receive friends starting at 11am. Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery.
