Bill Luke, 99, Clermont, FL passed away peacefully at his current residence, under his son's (Tom) & daughter-in-law's (Rita) care, in addition to Cornerstone Hospice. With his family by his side, he passed away peacefully on Friday, March 1, 2019. He was born on February 21, 1920 in Parsons, Pennsylvania son of William & Margret Lokushek. He was a longtime resident of Waldwick, NJ & built the house on 34 Dora Ave, where his family lived. He served in the Navy as a Seabee during WWII. He retired from The Record in Hackensack, NJ. He was a member of Old Paramus Reformed Church. His wife Eleanor & daughter Nancy Vander Platt preceded him in death.
Surviving is his son Tom Luke & his wife Rita of Clermont, FL; grandchildren Ben Mullen, Danielle Habermehl & Dawn Anderson; great-grandchildren Wesley Mullen, Philip Habermehl, Kaylee Habermehl, Tristan Habermehl, Charley Anderson, and Blake Anderson & sister-in-law Barbara Vander Wall and her husband Harold, Jr. of Midland Park, NJ.
The funeral service will be held at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL. Chaplain Geoffrey Yong with Cornerstone Hospice will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to Hospice of Lake & Sumter, 12300 Lane Park Rd, Tavares, FL 34778 would be appreciated.
