William "Bill" Louis Enochs, Jr. passed away peacefully at his home on March 9, 2024.
Bill graduated from Indiana University in 1968 and embarked on a distinguished career as a high school teacher and football/baseball coach in Kankakee, IL. Later, he transitioned to the paper packaging industry, where he achieved notable success as a sales leader for several companies, ultimately retiring and relocating to Florida. Bill was not only a scholar but also an accomplished athlete, excelling on two state championship football teams in high school and demonstrating prowess in baseball. He earned a football scholarship to Western Michigan University before transferring to Indiana University. Additionally, he served his country honorably in the United States Army Reserves. Recently, he and the high school baseball team he coached at Eastridge High School in Kankakee were honored with induction into their Hall of Fame. Bill's passions included fishing, hunting, traveling, and savoring good food.
He was the beloved husband of Nilce Leonardo and the loving father of his son Gregory Enochs, son Matthew Enochs, daughter Gretchen Symmes, and stepdaughter Ana Peterson. He leaves behind four grandchildren, Ashley LeMaster, Christian Enochs, Griffin Symmes, and Scout Symmes, as well as his brother, James Enochs. He was preceded in death by his father, William Louis Enochs, Sr., his mother Iris Emadean Davis-Collard, his brother Larry Enochs, and sister Linda Wojciehowski.
Bill's final resting place will be with family at the Clay Cemetery, in Skyline, Alabama, with the date to be determined.
