William Robert Carter March 6, 1942 - August 18, 2017
William (Bill) Carter, 75, born and raised in Millville, NJ, passed away on Friday, August 18, 2017, at his residence in Clermont, FL with his son and daughter by his side. Bill is survived by his mother, Reba Curio, Newfield, NJ; son, Todd (Donna) Carter, Clermont, FL; daughter Beth (Andy) Lyford, Denver, CO, and his beloved and only grandchild, Grace. His brother in law Bob (Jackie) Loth and his treasured nieces and nephews: Cori (George) Coulter, Bobby Loth, Jennifer (Craig) McQuade and Tracy (Joe) Boyd. He is preceded in death by his loving wife of 49 years, Carol (Loth) Carter and his cherished in laws, Robert H. Loth and Anna (Loth) Seglin. Carol was the love of his life and they are finally reunited. After graduating from Millville Memorial High, Bill served in the US Army then graduated from Glassboro State College (B.A.) and Fairleigh Dickinson University (M.A.). Bill was a dedicated elementary and middle school teacher in Millville for over 30 years and was loved and respected by his students and peers. He worked with the Millville Teachers Association (MTA) for 20 years as both chief negotiator and MTA President. He proudly served the teachers of Millville and never lost in any of his negotiations with the Millville Board of Education. Bill was a kind, strong Christian man of faith. He will be missed by his friends at South Lake Hospital, The Willows and 1st United Methodist Church of Clermont. He is greatly loved and will be forever in our hearts. We love you, Dad. A Memorial Service will be held in Clermont, FL at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to New Hope United Methodist Church (formerly 2nd Methodist) in Millville, NJ or the 1st United Methodist Church of Clermont, FL.
