William Charles Adams, 77, died at his home in Trilogy on November 14, 2013. Bill was a proud Army veteran, serving as a First Lieutenant and Post Escort Officer at Ft. Jackson, South Carolina. He was a proud member of the Kiwanis Club of Clermont, and was President for 2005-06. He delighted in working with the kids, especially the Reading Is Fundamental program. He was a devoted member of the First United Methodist Church in Clermont, and loved his LSU Tigers, win, lose or draw. Bill worked in the Florida citrus industry for many years, eventually working as a floor trader at the Citrus Associates of the New York Cotton Exchange-a position to which he was definitely suited, yelling and throwing his hands in the air. He eventually went to work with John Cox, John Cox Jr. and Karen as a futures trader for UBS Financial Services Inc, from which he retired at the end of 2001. He is survived by his wife and best friend of 26 years, Karen, his sister Carole and brother-in-law John Adams of Deerfield, VA, his daughter Tammie and her husband Rafael Arias, grandson Brittain, granddaughter Allyssen, and his son Bill (William Wesley) and his wife Rhonda Adams.
The memorial service for Bill Adams will be held at 3:00 PM on Monday, November 18, 2013 at First United Methodist Church with Reverend Dawn Fryman officiating. Inurnment will be at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, November 19, 2013 at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, with US Army honors. The family suggests that in lieu of flowers please consider a memorial contribution in his name to either Kiwanis Foundation or First United Methodist Church. BECKER FUNERAL HOME, Clermont, FL.
