Wilbur Henry Bowles, 93 formerly of Danville, passed away peacefully on Thursday July 14, 2016 at his home in Minneola Florida, surrounded by family members.
Visitation and services will be at Becker Funeral Home in Clermont Florida.
A Masonic service will be conducted by the Clermont Masonic Lodge and entombment will be at
Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Leesburg Florida.
He was born June 7 1923 in Waveland Indiana to Meardia V. Bowles and Essie ( Henry ) Bowles.
He graduated from Danville High School. Following school he worked in the engine shop for the C& EI
railroad from 1942 till 1961. After that he was a mechanic and front end technician for Nobel's Ford in
Danville. After moving to Clermont / Minneola Florida he continued as a mechanic for Tropical Ford of
Orlando until his retirement in 1988.
He married Judith Rosnett on December 9th 1945 in Campbellsville Kentucky and they shared over 55
years
together before her passing in 2000.
He leaves behind two daughters: Kay ( Merle ) Miller and Becky ( Robin ) Purdom: three grandchildren

( Miller ) VanValkenburg, Bobbie ( Miller ) Donalson, and Grant Purdom: and two great-grandchildren: Christian Donalson and Brett VanValkenburg.
Wibur was proceeded in ,death by his parents, his loving wife Judy, and three sisters: Jean Davis,
Florence Holycross, and Ruth Johnson.
He was a member of the Covenant Presbyterian Church of Danville.
He was a 32nd degree Mason and a member of the Further Light Lodge No. 1130, Valley of Danville.
