Walter Simpson Matlock passed away on January 16, 2021 in Clermont, Florida from complications of congestive heart failure and MS.

He was born February 15, 1956 in Little Rock Arkansas to Ethel & Lynn Matlock.

Walt was educated in the Des Moines public school system and graduated from North High School. He attended jr. college.

Walt was an avid sports fan. He played basketball in high school. All who knew and loved Walt will forever see Walt's face when watching a Dallas Cowboys game.

Walt was known for his love of cars, clothes, music & dancing. He owned several bars throughout his life in Des Moines,Iowa.

Walt loved recalling memories memories from the past with family & friends and making them laugh.

He loves life and will be missed by all who knew him. Walt was a loving Husband, Father & Grandpa.

He leaves to cherish his memory: Wife Marcia, Daughter Brandi (Josh) Knopfel, and grandson Evan of O'fallon, Missouri.

Walt is preceded in his death by his parents and brother Jules.

He is survived by two sisters; Mattie Darling (DeVotie) Des Moines, Iowa, Rebecca Hutchinson (Noel) Memphis, Tennessee, brother Richard Matlock (Theresa) las Vegas, Nevada, and many nieces, nephews, in-laws & friends
