Obituary

Walter Martin, born on May 11, 1940, in Darby, Pennsylvania, passed away on June 2, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of love, kindness, and creativity.

Walter found stability as a young man when he joined the United States Coast Guard at the age of 18, following his graduation from high school, then worked for the Navy in 1962. In 1964, Walter met the love of his life, Ginger, with whom he embarked on a journey of companionship, adventure, and long-lasting love over their 55 years together.

Walter enrolled at Miami-Dade College in 1967, where he earned a degree in Electrical Engineering. This achievement marked the beginning of a successful career in the field, where his expertise and diligence were widely respected at Lockheed Martin. In 1975, Walter and Ginger welcomed their first child, Jason, followed by their daughter, Jessica, in 1979. Family was at the center of Walter's world, and he devoted himself to providing for his family in every possible way.

Beyond his professional achievements, Walter was a gifted artist with a particular talent for creating intricate stained glass pieces. In his spare time, he would meticulously craft these works of art, which adorned their family home and became cherished gifts for friends and loved ones. Walter's artistic endeavors were a reflection of his attention to detail and his deep appreciation for beauty in everyday life.

Walter Martin will be remembered not only for his artistic talents but also for his kindness, warmth, gentle demeanor, humble spirit, and devotion to his family. His legacy lives on through his children and grandchildren (who called him Opa), who continue to cherish the values of hard work, creativity, and compassion that he instilled in them.

Rest in peace, Walter Martin. Your memory will forever be cherished, and your legacy forever remembered.
