Obituary

Vivian Lillian Cox Henderson was born on November 9, 1933 in Montverde, Florida, to James
Edwin Cox and Pauline Gideons Cox. She passed away in Clermont, FL on December 22, 2017.
Her daughters were blessed to be with her when she said goodbye.

Vivian was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene "Bud" Henderson; her sister Virginia
Roane of Clermont; and her infant grandson Casey Crowe. She is survived by her daughters
Marcia Cox (Jeff), Orlando; Elaine Caccamise (Dave), Montverde; her sons Bob Henderson of
Montverde; and Gene Henderson of Leesburg, grandchildren Monica Hodson Hand, (Matthew),
Orlando; Dale Hodson, Winter Garden; Kisten Rogers, Montverde; Alan Henderson, Montverde;
and Kyle Crowe, Henderson, Nevada; eight great-grandchildren; her sister-in-law, Marge
Merritt of Ocoee, and two nephews, Roger Freeman, Groveland and Buford "Bunny" Creech,
Minneola.

Vivan and her sister, Virginia, spent a lot of time during their childhood with their beloved
grandparents, Jim and Lily Cox, who were a positive influence in their lives.
Vivan met the love of her life as a teenager while she was swimming in Lake Florence in
Montverde. Bud rode up on his horse, Judy, and from that moment on she called him her knight
in shining armor! She moved to Georgia shortly thereafter, but found her way back to
Montverde and they were married a couple of years later. They moved to Ferndale after they
got married, which is where they raised their four children. They enjoyed a rural lifestyle, raising
livestock and growing most of their own vegetables and fruits. The old homeplace was on 50
acres with an airstrip for Bud's airplane. Although she had many hours of flying lessons and did
actually pilot, she never got her license to fly solo. That didn't matter to her - she boasted to
many that she was a pilot!

Vivan worked as a bookkeeper for several Clermont businesses, and later began her career as a
realtor in Clermont. Being a people person of integrity served her well in business.
Vivian was a woman of many talents. She was a great cook, seamstress, fisherman, musician,
and gardener. But her passions were writing poetry, flying, playing Bingo and photography. She
studied photography in college and won an award for one of her photographs which was
published in a local newspaper.

Vivan is a former member of the Clermont Chapter of Eastern Star, Ferndale Baptist Church, and
later in life, Woodlands Lutheran Church. When her children were young, she ensured that they
were in Sunday School and church every week, and was a volunteer at church, for 4-H functions
and other organizations. She was in 4-H, which inspired some of her children and grandchildren
to join the club.

Those who knew Vivian will remember her for her sweet, outgoing personality, her infectious
laugh, her strength during adversity, and her spirit of adventure. Her love for her family and
friends was evident by the way she lived her life. She was a woman of faith and her family rests
assured that she is finally "home" with her loved ones in Heaven.

In observance of Alzheimer's awareness, some of her family members are wearing purple.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations in Vivian's memory to Cornerstone Hospice
Foundation, 2445 Lake Park Road, Tavares, Florida, 32778, The National Alzheimer's
