IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Vittorio
Cinque
May 19, 1931 – February 25, 2022
Vittorio V. Cinque, age 90 was residing in Clermont, Florida when he passed away on February 25, 2022.
Vittorio was born in Napoli, Italy on May 19, 1931. His mother was Assunta Esposito. He had 2 brothers and 4 sisters; however, when the 2 nd world war came to Italy his family was separated and he grew up close to his older brother, Aurelio and his Godfather in France. After the war he was sent to a boarding school in Bologna, Italy to finish his schooling. He then went on to Art school in Reims, France and then to the Sorbonne in Paris where he received a degree in languages. He spoke six languages fluently and had knowledge of several others.
This fluency in languages gave him the opportunity to have several positions in his younger years including as an Attaché to the Pakistan Ambassador for France. In 1961 he accepted a position with IBM International working alongside their Senior VP of International affairs where he remained for 40 years. This career gave him the opportunity to travel throughout the world extensively which he loved. It also sent him eventually to Boca Raton, Fl. where he settled in 1982. He was always proud to serve the Boca community for several years volunteering many hours with the Police Auxiliary, Marine patrol, Coast Guard Auxiliary, and the Beach Sea Turtle rescue efforts.
In 1985 he met his future wife, Sandra when he went to purchase a boat. That began a long relationship resulting in marriage in 1996, his first and only marriage. He and Sandra enjoyed 35 wonderful years together. After his first retirement he and Sandra became the owners of the Arcade Inn, a bed and breakfast in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Here again, his ability to speak many languages was important as the guests of the inn were from many parts of the world. It was a very enjoyable and satisfying period for him. He completely retired in 2001 giving he and Sandra more time to take cruises and vacation in Europe.
Vittorio's favorite place was anywhere in or near the water. He said it was because he was born next to the Bay of Napoli. He loved Napoli and was very proud to be, as he said, "Pure Napolitano"!
Vittorio always enjoyed family get-togethers, having the grandchildren over, playing the piano and singing along. His hobbies included cooking, painting, boating, flying, traveling, cruising, and playing slots. He Captained his own boat and flew his own Piper Cub during his lifetime. He was also a connoisseur of fine food, wine, and cheese and was a fantastic family chef as well. He could cook anything and enjoyed cooking for everyone. He was proud to be a member of Chaîne des Rôtisseurs, an International Association of Gastronomy and was honored by them with the title of Grand Commandeur in 2003.
Vittorio is survived by his loving wife Sandra Cinque, children Michelle Smith and Jason Mink, eight grandchildren Bobby Smith, Tristan Smith, Justine Mink, Preston Mink, Jaylynn Mink, Kennedy Mink, Sebastian Mink and Cooper Mink and two great-grandchildren, Wolfie Mink and Willow Mink.
A graveside service will be held on March 10, 2022, at 3 PM at Oak Hill Cemetery in Clermont, Fl.
