IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Vita Cannata
Sulsenti
January 3, 1921 – April 7, 2021
Vita Sulsenti, 100, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, April 7, 2021. She was born in Vittoria, Sicily.
Vita means "life" which was the perfect name for a loving and caring person that lived a long and full century. She was born on December 21, 1920. She was a young bride in February 1936 to Cesare Sulsenti. She lived her whole life in Vittoria, Sicily raising her family, working and running the family grocery store through WWII. She and her husband immigrated to the United States in 1962 to join their grown sons and their families. She was an accomplished tailor and upholsterer. She was a wonderful cook, her home always filled with the scent of authentic Italian dishes. She dearly loved her grand, great grand and great-great grandchildren, calling each one her "sangu mio". Her family always felt her love for them spilling from her. She was the quintessential, classic Sicilian wife, mother and grandmother. Her last words every time we saw her were "I love you too mucha".
Vita is survived by her large Italian family that includes son, Rosario (Grace) Sulsenti of Clermont, FL, daughter in law, Rosemarie Sulsenti of Clermont, FL; grandchildren Jerry (Rose) Sulsenti of Clermont, FL, Sally (Tony) Abbondanzio of Raleigh, NC, Jeannie (Jeff) Stokes of Winter Garden, Florida, Chris (Denise) Sulsenti of Weston, FL; great grandchildren Leslie (Tucker) French, Clermont, FL, Katrina (Travis) Edwards of Raleigh, NC, Marco (Mandy) Sulsenti of Fayetteville, NC, Julie (Austin) Montgomery of Smyrna, GA, Nicholas (Emmie) Abbondanzio of Raleigh, NC, Michael Sulsenti of Tampa, FL, Matthew Sulsenti of Clermont, FL, Marisa Sulsenti of Clermont, FL, Natalie Abbondanzio of Raleigh, NC, Nicole Sulsenti of Windermere, FL, Gina Sulsenti of Weston, FL; great-great grandchildren Olivia Sulsenti of Fayetteville, NC, Declan French of Clermont, FL, Lorelai French of Clermont, FL, Elise Edwards of Raleigh, NC, Leo Abbondanzio of Raleigh, NC, and eagerly expecting the arrival of Baby Boy Montgomery in Smyrna, GA; brother Biagio (Rosaria) Cannata of Davie, FL; sister-in-law Concetta Cannata, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and other loving family members.
