Virgil "Ike" D. Whitten, 66, of Astatula, FL passed away at home Monday, March 14, 2011.  Ike was born on October 8, 1944 in Ethelsville, AL, the son of Alan and Lorene (Nee Richards) Whitten.  Ike was a lifelong resident of Central Florida and was a salesman.  He was a member of the Mascotte Church of God of Prophecy.

Ike is survived by his loving wife, Shirley (nee Grimes); son, Anthony Dwight Whitten of Astatula, FL and daughter, Tara Lynn Moreno and husband Brian of Orlando, FL; siblings, Laverne Whitten of Nashville, TN and Brother Tommy Whitten of Mascotte, FL; and 4 grandchildren, Hunter, Holden and Hayden Whitten and Mason Moreno.



A Celebration of Ike's life will be held at 2PM Saturday, March 19th at the Mascotte Church of God of Prophecy, with Brother Butch Kemp officiating.  There will be a gathering from 1PM until service time at the church.
