Viola Wilhelmina King, 93, of Groveland, FL passed away peacefully at home following a fight with cancer. She was surrounded by her loving family during this time. Viola was born on June 16, 1919 in Merrill, Wisconsin, the daughter of Gottfried and Anna WIll. She had resided in South Lake county since 1952 and was a homemaker and member of First Baptist Church of Groveland. She was heavily involved at church, including being a member of the choir and soloist, teaching Sunday School, Bible School and other various ministries, especially involving children.
Viola is survived by her loving children, Donna Fulton of Arlington, VA, Barbara King of Chapel Hill, NC, John (Patricia) King of Montverde, FL, Judy Pierce of Indianapolis, IN, Mary (Randall) Cockcroft of Groveland, FL, Nancy (Clyde) McPherson of Winter Garden, FL, Bonnie Harding of Clermont, FL, Sandra Jensen of Groveland, FL and Joanne Lacette of The Villages, FL; brothers, Roland Will of CA and Fred Will of WI; 24 grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren. Viola was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley L. King; son, James King whose wife Ann is a beloved daughter in law; grandson Chad Cockcroft and son in law Chuck Fulton.
Viola's family and friends will truly miss her loving smile.
A Celebration of Viola's life will be held at 7:30 PM Friday, October 19, 2012 at the First Baptist Church, Groveland. Visitation will be held from 5:30 PM until service time at the church. Interment will be held at 11AM Saturday at Greenwood Cemetery, Groveland. The family suggests flowers or memorials in Viola's name to Cornerstone Hospice, 2445 Lane Park Rd., Tavares, FL 32778.
