Obituary

Vincent Joseph Palladino, Sr., a devoted family man and proud Italian-American, died on June 23, 2025, in Clermont, Florida. He was 85.

Born in 1939 to Dominic and Lillian Palladino in Floral Park (Queens) New York, Vincent (Vince if you met him in Florida, Vinnie if you met him in New York) began his adult life graduating from Edison High School and attending college before he worked at Martin Marietta (now Lockheed Martin). His career as a mechanical engineer spanned more than 30 years.

Vinnie's marriage with his wife, Rosemarie (Rose) Palladino, for 55-and-a-half years served as the backbone of their life together. Along with Rose, he was an active and devoted member of St. Andrews Catholic Church in Pine Hills, Florida, for more than 30 years, before they moved to Clermont, Florida, where they joined Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church and have been members for the past 27 years. During his time as a member of Blessed Sacrament, Vinnie served as the president of the men's club for three terms and was a favored lecturer praised for his loud and clear voice. Together he and his wife led home prayer groups and served as Pre-Cana marriage preparation counselors for young couples entering marriage. Additionally, Vinnie was a member of Knights of Columbus, a Catholic fraternal service organization dedicated to charity, unity, fraternity, and patriotism.

As a child, Vinnie enjoyed playing baseball and rooting for the Yankees, of which he was a lifelong fan. Vinnie had many passions throughout his rich and full life, including going to the beach, the mountains, woodworking, camping, traveling the world, entertaining at home, dining on good food, relaxing with a cocktail or ice cold beer, and doting on his wife, seven children, fourteen grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren.

For many years, he and his family vacationed to the North Carolina mountains for peace and quiet in nature. His family still remembers how they could visibly see the relaxation transform his body as he left the stressful traffic of the city as he drove up the winding mountain roads where he liked to hike, visit with family, sit out on the deck with his coffee watching birds and deer, and meeting local craftspeople.

Vinnie is survived by his beloved wife of 55-and-a-half years, Rosemarie Palladino; his siblings Tom (Kathy) Palladino, Elaine (Tony) Santa Maria, and Alan (Joanie) Schiavelli; and his children Timothy (Debbie) Sullivan, Dan (Debbie) Palladino, Brian Palladino, Gina (Ephrian) Leonard, Lisa (Richard) Healy, Vincent (Ursula) Palladino, Jr., and Maria (Kirsten) Palladino; fourteen grandchildren Jason, Christine, Stephanie, Daniel, Brittany, Austin, Jonathan, Jasmine, Sandy, Alexis, Giovanna, Roman, Leonardo, and Rocco; thirteen great grandchildren Alyssa, Kiley, Ian, Dominic, Athen, Caden, Makenna, Kylee, Bryson, Ashton, J.J., Carter, and Sienna; and his two shih tzus Abby Rose and Teddy Bear. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dominic and Lillian Palladino.

A viewing will be held on June 29, 2025, at 6 to 8 p.m. at Becker Funeral Home. The funeral will be held on June 30, 2025, at 11 a.m. at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church with a reception to follow. All are welcome to attend.

Contributions in lieu of flowers can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Center, a cause dear to Vinnie's heart.

Vinnie's life's motto was live, laugh, love. He did all three with gusto.
