Obituary

Vid Parsan was born on January 4, 1961 and passed away peacefully in his home on Friday, August 7, 2020 in Clermont, Florida.

He was born and raised in Berbice, Guyana, the youngest of five children, and the son of Heerawattie and Primram Parsan (both deceased).

Vid immigrated to New York City as a young man and set out to follow the American dream. He worked in many trades and was self educated in electrical, air conditioning, architecture and engineering. His work ethic, professionalism and passion for learning promoted him to serve as the Chief of Facility Operations for the Department of Justice, where he accumulated over 20 years of service. He retired at the age of 57 in Leesburg and moved to Clermont, FL in early 2020 shortly after he was diagnosed with Stage IV esophageal cancer.

Vid is survived by his devoted wife, Nadira, of 39 years, his children, Nadia (35years old) and Vee (31), as well as his four grandchildren, Liam (5), Raylon (3), River (3months) and Ahnaliya (3). He also leaves behind his four older siblings, Yvonne in Canada, Varone of Queens, NY, Valika of Long Island, NY and his brother Bhaskar who resides in Schenectady, NY. Vid was the beloved uncle of many nieces and nephews and had many first and second cousins with whom he was close.

Vid will be remembered by many who admired him for intellectual abilities and his love and compassion for others. He has touched the lives of many and has left his footprints in their hearts. He loved his country, his wife, his children and grandchildren. Vid was a family man. He enjoyed luxury and muscle cars, Harley Davidson, traveling, socializing and working on many home improvement projects. No challenge was a challenge for him. He enjoyed his farm and baby goats. His favorite TV shows included Fox News, Jeopardy, American Pickers, Gold Rush and the NYSE. Overall, Vid had an abundant life.

May he always rest in peace. He will be missed dearly.
