On February 22, 2024, Victor Rene Almonte of Clermont, Florida passed away at the age of 74 years. Victor was born in Santiago, Dominican Republic on October 11, 1949, and was the 8th of 9 children.

In the early 1960's, he came to the United States and soon became a proud American citizen. Victor received his bachelor's degree in accounting from Hofstra University in New York and rose to the role of Vice President of international loans and lending in Manhattan.

He married Mayra on January 2, 1985, and they shared nearly four decades of treasured love and countless adventures with their children, grandchildren, and extended family.

Victor and Mayra continued their adventure together when they retired to central Florida in 2016. Victor was an avid reader, talented and enthusiastic cook (especially his lasagna!), and he loved playing his guitar and riding his bicycle around the shores of Lake County's many lakes.

Victor is survived by the love of his life, Mayra Almonte, his wife and soulmate, their children Katherine, Michelle, Ernesto, Victor Hugo, and Christine, and his grandchildren Derian, Caroline, Madison, Gabriela, Alexander, Natalia, AJ, and Katalina.
