Vernon Drawdy Jr., 87, of Clermont, Florida, passed away peacefully on July 23, 2025. A devoted father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, Vernon was deeply loved by his family and cherished by all who knew him.
Vernon was born on April 15, 1938, in Clermont, FL.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mary Donni Drawdy. He is survived by his children: Debora Drawdy Akos (Joe), Vernon "Tripp" Drawdy III (Elyse), Diane Drawdy Millar (Edmond), and Clinton David Drawdy (Jennifer); his grandchildren: Joe Akos Jr, Tyler Akos, Tanner Akos, Kaitlyn Akos Small, Lauren Drawdy Dabney, Leah Drawdy Lessard, Sennett Drawdy, Price Drawdy, Mae Drawdy, Shelby Drawdy; his great-grandchildren: Brooks Akos, Paislee Akos, Miller Akos, Lucy Akos, Maisy Akos, Avery Akos, Emmie Akos, Marley Akos, Declan Dabney, Maelynn Akos, Eiza Small, Weston Lessard, Kelly Small, and Walker Lessard.
Vernon was a man of strong Christian faith and values, which guided his life and relationships. His unwavering belief in God and commitment to living with integrity, kindness, and humility left a lasting impact on all who knew him.
Vernon proudly served his country as a Patriot in the United States Air Force from 1956 to 1976, demonstrating a lifelong commitment to service and integrity. His legacy of love, strength, and dedication will live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
A private family service will be held to honor his life and memory.
