Vernice R. Carpenter, 76, Clermont, Florida, formerly of Lee's Summit, Missouri, passed away Monday, November 7, 2022.

She was born September 26, 1946, in Mound City, Missouri, to Albert and Margaret (Whitlock) Long.

She graduated from Mound City High School Class of 1964.

While living in St. Joseph, Missouri, she was employed by Methodist Medical Center and American Family Insurance. After moving to Lee's Summit, Missouri, she was employed by Kohl's Department Store.

When not working, Vernice enjoyed spending time with her family, reading, arts and crafts, and summer trips to the beach.

Vernice was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Barbara Travis.

Survivors include husband, Jerry Carpenter; daughters Bridget Wilson (Trevor) and Kristin Carpenter; grandchildren Lauren and Cameron Wilson; sisters Alma Carpenter (Jack), Carol Thurnau (Bill); brother, Albert Long (Natalie); numerous nieces and nephews.
