Verna Mae Uran passed away after a short illness at home on Wednesday, June 17, 2020. Beloved wife of Robert M. Uran, they were united in marriage on March 2, 1958 in Emporia, Kansas. Loving mother of Thomas (Kelly) Uran of Lenexa, Kansas and Connie (Kevin) Uran Norris of Groveland, Florida. Cherished grandmother of Jessica (Scott) Neeley of Red Cloud, Nebraska; Ricci (Jarrad) Robertson of Eckley, Colorado; Luke (Elizabeth) Adams of Joplin, Missouri; Michael Uran of Derby, Kansas; and Nick Uran of Lawrence, Kansas. Verna adored her great-grandchildren: Shelby (Casey Wamock) Rappel of Evans, Colorado; Whitney, Riley, Bridon, and Braydon Pearson all of Emporia, Kansas; Bristal, Creek, Harlow, and Stockton Robertson all of Eckley, Colorado; Christian Uran of Derby, Kansas; Connor, Joselyn, Samuel and Baby (due in August) Adams all of Joplin, Missouri; and Kouper Adams of Washington. Verna also leaves behind many nieces and nephews who were loved dearly.

Dearest sister of Beverly (Burt) Copeland of Baldwin City, Kansas and Ernest E. Germann.

Verna was preceded in death by her parents; Ernest A. and Adelia Germann of Emporia, Kansa.

She dedicated 55 years of service to her community as a beautician, working for John's Salon of Beauty early in her career. Verna owned her own salon, Verna's Cut and Curl before working at and eventually retiring from Marsha's headquarters in 2008. She also was the manager of Longhorn Restuarant at Emporia Livestock Sales in Emporia, Kansas from 1979-1980. Verna and Robert settled in Groveland, Florida to enjoy their retirement years.

Verna was an extremely talented cook, hosting many breakfast meals at Woodland's at Church Lake in Groveland, Florida. She was a member of the Woodland's bocce team and loved painting. Verna also enjoyed playing bingo and card games and helped organize many events and gatherings for both family and friends. She was dearly loved by many.
