Vanessa Parks was born in Brooklyn, NY on September 21, 1961 to the late parents of Isaac W. Parks Sr. and Elizabeth Parks. She passed away on Friday, October 20, 2017 at her residence in Clermont, FL.
Vanessa leaves behind two daughters, Aisha D. Parks and Samantha Black and one grandson, Jayden Jose Roman.
In 1988, Vanessa started her career at New York City Department of Correction as a Correction Officer at Riker's Island. She worked with the department for 20 years and retired in 2008.
Her interests included spending time with her loved ones and friends. Traveling was a big part of Vanessa's life. As a child, Vanessa grew up religious, devoting her time to serving God.
Vanessa has many siblings including the late Brenda Charlotte Boyette. Vanessa is survived by Elizabeth Parks, Isaac Parks Jr., Norman Parks, Linda Parks, Fred Parks, Violet Toliver, Diane Mathis, Frances Parks, Kenneth Parks, Yvonne Parks (sister-n-law), Anthony Parks, Joyce Ann Parks, and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. She also leaves behind three God children, Derrick Jamison, Gina Davis and Nyah Singleton.
Vanessa enjoyed her few remaining years living in Clermont, FL.
The Home Going Service for Vanessa Parks will be held at 11:00am on Thursday, October 26, 2017 at the Wootson Temple Church, located at 836 Scott Street, Clermont, FL 34711. Pastor Marvin Wootson will officiate the service. The burial will follow at the Oak Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at Wootson Temple Church.
