Trevor Anthony Hughes was born on February 17, 1944 in Port Maria, St. Mary Jamaica to Louis and Daphne (nee Hamilton) Hughes. He was their second child, and only son. He spent his early years in Port Maria and Port Antonio before the family moved to St. Andrew.  He graduated from Calabar High School in the early 1960's. At Calabar, Trevor developed his lifelong passion for Track and Field. He was a proud supporter of his alma mater to the end.  Trevor married Sadie Rose Miller in January 1971. They were proud parents of Richard, Shelley-Ann, and Kevin. Trevor and his family migrated to Queens, New York in 1981.  They moved to Houston in 1984 and to Miami in 1986.  Sadly, Trevor lost his beloved Rose to cancer, in September of 1988. Trevor and his children moved to Coral Springs. There he had a wide circle of friends many of whom were from high school and co-workers from his Jamaica days.  Trevor was a very good cook. On Saturdays, Trevor's home was a gathering place for many of these friends who would come for his famous Saturday Soup.  After retiring, Trevor moved to Lehigh Acres in 2009.  In the Fall of 2017, Trevor made his last move to Clermont to be cared for by his sister Maureen and brother-in-law, Stuart. Shortly after recent visits from his children and grandchildren, Trevor passed away in his sleep on the morning of June 4, 2018 in Clermont. He will be remembered lovingly by his children (Richard, Shelley-Ann, and Kevin); his grandchildren (Cheyenne, Bailey, Lily, Tristan, and Noah); his surviving siblings (Denise and Maureen); his Aunt Les; his cousins, nieces, and nephews; and a host of friends.
