After a long battle with heart complications from June to January, Tommy Edward McCollum went home to heaven January 13, 2018, at the age of 49. He was a devoted and loving partner to Cheryl McDonnell for 12 years. They had one child together, Brooklyn McCollum. He is also survived by his son, Mitchell Wallis and step-sons, Kevin and Brian McDonnell; his mother, Mickey McCollum and step-father, Buck McCollum; sister, Cindi Foshee (husband Kevin); half-sister, Mindy Kirke; step-brothers, Brian McCollum and Troy McCollum; niece, Summer Foshee; aunt, Donna Metcalfe; cousins, Sandy Vance and Suzy Soule; and many extended family members and friends.
Tommy was born July 26, 1968, in Montgomery, Alabama, to Mickey and Tommy Floyd. He grew up in Montgomery, and then lived in various Florida cities until he settled in Clermont, Florida, until last year when their family relocated to St. Petersburg, Florida, due to the family's love of the beach life.
Tommy always had an entrepreneurial spirit and opened several businesses inclusive of Clermont Creative Concepts, Clermont Biz, and Clermont Shirt Shack. His latest venture was Dock Piling Wraps and he had plans to run a fishing charter. He studied for months and achieved his goal of becoming a certified Captain.
Cheryl was his true love and supported him in all of his endeavors as well as brought all family members together. He was proud that his sons were receiving a higher education by attending college. Mitchell is at Auburn University, Kevin is at Niagara University and Brian is at St. Johns University. His daughter, Brooklyn was the light of his life; his eyes would light up every time he saw her. He loved spending time with his family and friends, fishing, enjoyed playing Texas Hold'em and had dreams of playing in the World Series of Poker Tournament in Las Vegas.
Tommy was preceded in death by his father, Tommy Edward Floyd; grandparents, Nora Floyd, Houston Floyd, Feddie Jones Isom and George Isom; and aunt, Laura Smith.
