IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Timothy Paul
Kunsman
September 26, 1966 – January 3, 2016
Timothy Paul Kunsman, 49 years old, passed peacefully into the arms of his loving Savior on Sunday January 3, 2016. He was at home, surrounded by his family. Tim battled colon cancer for 2 ½ years with great courage and strength. During this time, he never let cancer hold him back from anything. His love for the Lord only grew stronger as did his love for his family and people.
He is survived by his wife of almost 24 years Donna Kunsman, son Kyle Kunsman and his wife Amanda Kunsman, daughter Kaila Shelley and her husband Bradley Shelley, mother Winnie Kunsman, sister Paula Kunsman, sister Sharon Kunsman, sister Crystal Murphy and her husband Jathan Murphy along with many other family members including aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews, niece and friends. He was preceded in death by his father Paul Kunsman, his paternal grandparents William and Ethel Kunsman and his maternal grandparents Josephine and Forrest Nolan.
Tim was born in Asmara, Ethiopia on September 26, 1966 to Paul and Winnie Kunsman. He graduated from Hollywood Christian School in 1984 and Liberty University in 1988 with a degree in psychology and later received a minor in accounting.
Tim has been in Law Enforcement with the Criminal Investigation Division of IRS since 1995. Prior to this position, he worked on the civil service side. He loved his job as a special agent and the awesome group of people he worked with over the years.
Tim was a loving and devoted husband and father. He treasured the years he served as a Boy Scout leader. Tim also had a passion for running. He ran in several 5k, 10k, and half marathons. He became so accomplished in his running that he was able to run in both Disney and New York City marathons as well. Nothing brought him greater pleasure than spending time with his wife and children. He loved building Legos, laughing, joking and "his version" of singing and dancing. Tim faithfully served at Mosaic church in Oakland, Florida and was blessed beyond measure to be involved in the Iron Men of God ministry. He loved serving alongside each of these men who he called his brothers.
Even in the midst of chemo and radiation treatments, Tim continued to accomplish goals he had set for himself. One of those goals was to get his real estate license and on May 13, 2015 he became a licensed realtor, and on December 11, 2015 he made his first sale. Tim lived each day to the fullest and with purpose. Tim finished strong.
1 Corinthians 9:26 - So I run with purpose in every step. I am not just shadowboxing.
