Thomas Ray Beckius "Tom", age 75, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother passed away Monday March 16, 2015. Tom was born in North Platte, Nebraska on August 7, 1939 to the late Paul and Cecilia Beckius. Following high school, Thomas joined the United States Navy in Omaha, Nebraska on February 28, 1958, he served our country proudly and majored in Fundamental Aviation until February 27, 1964 when he was honorably discharged. After serving in the military Thomas continued to serve through the Fire Department with 25+ years of service retiring from the Orlando Fire Department.
Thomas was a loving, caring, generous, peaceful man. He was always smiling. Thomas enjoyed traveling the United States on his motorcycle with friends and his wife Juanita at his side. Tom and Juanita purchased a motorhome later in life to continue their love of traveling. Tom also loved taking pictures, golfing and spending time with his grandkids and great-grandkids.
Thomas is survived by his wife Juanita Beckius, Brother Jerry Beckius; his son Tim Beckius; his step children Elaine Barton, Jack Eldon Griner Jr, Joyce Chancellor, and David Griner; 8 grand-children and 21 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents Paul & Cecilia Beckius.
Funeral Services for Thomas will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, March 19, 2015 at the Church at South Lake, Clermont. Pastor Brian Hammond officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery, Clermont. Visitation will be held from 1:00 PM till service time at the church.
