Theresa Yvonne
Robinson
May 19, 1979 — Jul 1, 2026
Theresa Yvonne Robinson entered this earthly realm on May 19, 1979, as the youngest of three daughters born to Lola M. Williams Robinson and Wayne A. Robinson.
Sharing her birthday with El Hajj Malik El Shabazz (Malcolm X), Theresa embodied a revolutionary spirit, determined to live her life on her own terms as best she could. Welcomed into this world by her mother reciting Psalm 23, Theresa would leave an indelible impact on this world and on the hearts of many. Raised alongside her sisters in Justice, Illinois, Theresa completed all of her elementary and secondary education there. After earning a college scholarship, Theresa attended Benedictine University, where she earned her bachelor's degree in Business Administration and Marketing in May 2002, followed by her master's degree in Business Administration with a concentration in International Business in May 2008. While there, Theresa was initiated into Benedictine’s undergraduate chapter of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Incorporated on February 8, 1998. “Ms. Nonchalant,” as she was affectionately called, made a lifetime commitment to “Greater Service, Greater Progress” in her work for the community.
Theresa was an active member of Trinity United Church of Christ throughout her formative years and into adulthood before relocating to Florida. She was a member of the Little Warriors for Christ, Girl Scouts, and the Sanctuary Choir. She was also a loyal volunteer for the church nursery and a chaperone for the Trinity HBCU Tours.
Theresa revolutionized how she fulfilled her dreams despite battling a myriad of illnesses. She moved to Florida, where she spent nearly a decade working at Walt Disney World as a certified travel agent. Welcoming families to what Disney proudly calls "The Happiest Place on Earth" brought Theresa genuine joy, even during seasons of personal hardship. Mickey Mouse topped the list of her favorite characters, and she delighted in helping guests—as well as family members—plan memorable vacations that she lovingly organized both personally and professionally.
Theresa's greatest joys included everyday conversations with her mother, traveling with her, and—quite simply—anything that involved her mommy. Additionally, she cherished her family, especially becoming an aunt (TeeTa) to her nieces and nephew. Proclaimed the baby of the family, she was intentional in making sure no one forgot it and relished in the love and care that came with that role.
Theresa was an avid reader of E. Lynn Harris, loved everything about The Godfather saga, appreciated wicked humor and clever jokes, embraced whimsy, and never stopped dreaming. Theresa was revolutionary in following the beat of her own drum, even when at times, only she could decipher its sound. Her life and legacy will be remembered as a beautiful melody that provided harmony to the lives of those who knew her and loved her.
Theresa departed from this life on July 1, 2026, in Clermont, Florida, where she lived. Although she never dreamed of leaving this life in summer, her spirit will never die as those she loved continue to speak her name. Theresa’s love eternally remains with her family: her parents, Lola, Wayne, and Jacklyn; her sisters Natasha and Camille; her nieces and nephews Khamari, Kailah, Keith Jr. (KJ), Grace, Macie, and Roman; her cousins and siblings, Danielle and Brian; her aunts and uncles, and a multitude of loved ones.
