Obituary

Terry Del Monk was born on October 6, 1969 and passed away peacefully on January 29, 2025.

Terry was born in Jacksonville, Florida. He spent most of his life in Central Florida. He graduated from Groveland High School in 1987.

He worked as a veterinarian technician at South Lake Animal Clinic and then switched to custodial work. That was the "job" he loved the most. Most of that time was at Edge Memorial United Methodist Church. He enjoyed everything except stripping and waxing floors!! His other passion was sharing Jesus. He loved filling in to preach and also recorded messages via Facebook to fulfill that mission. He was also part of the praise band, Forgiven, playing the drums and singing.

Terry loved Batman and Star Trek. He would always tell everyone that he was Batman! He also loved playing jokes on everyone… ask any family member and I'm sure they can tell you a story about a joke he played on them! He was a great storyteller and could weave a story on the fly… and it usually included a man with a red gas can (that's usually how you could tell the story was made up!). His family was cherished by him, especially once he became "Pops". His grandchildren were the light of his life!

Terry is survived by his wife of 28 years, Michele; children Terry "Bud" (Madeline); James "JC" and his wife, Rachael; and Victoria (Phil) and; his grandchildren, Trentyn, Mattie, Hudson, Allen "AJ", Jaxen, Samantha, Chelseigh "Rowynn", Sydney, James IV "Jake", Sierra and soon Layla. He is survived by his parents, Del and Dianne; his brother Steve and his wife, Jean; and sister Brandi and her husband Mark. He is also survived by his Aunt Joan, Uncle Huff and many other aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Terry was preceded in death by his Uncle Charlie, who was an important figure in his life.
