Obituary

Stuart Alan Herndon, 57, of Groveland, Fl. joined his family in paradise on May 13th, 2018. He was born to the late Julian and Bessie Herndon on September 1, 1960 in Orlando, FL. He was little brother to Billy and Eddie and soon after big brother to David, Debbie and Anna. During his youth he was often found planting and digging trees with his dad, in church studying the bible, downtown at the recreation center power lifting weights, his nightly run through Pine Hills and learning his stucco trade. He joined the United States Marine Corp and was stationed at Parris Island, South Carolina where he was soon found holding a bible preaching to his fellow Marines; Rev. Herndon. He also met, married and began a family with Ms. Kathy Gray. He attended college at the University of South Carolina in Beaufort and graduated with a 4.0, on the Dean's list obtaining a Bachelors Degree in Business. On his military leaves they were always found back home in Groveland, FL cleaning their property and building on their condo. They also were stationed in Okinawa, Japan and Camp LeJeune, North Carolina before being honorably discharged from the Marines as Master Sargent Herndon and returning to Orlando FL.

He returned to the stucco trade and traveled between Orlando and Groveland for years. He wrestled as BIG STU for Renegade Wrestling Association, played by his own rules with those intimidating facial expressions, instigating everyone to get stirred up then chuckle as he watched everyone's reactions. His most cherished times were during the summers with his 3 kids David, Joshua and Kristina, who spent their time with him cleaning land, building the condo, fishing in the pond, planting plants and studying the bible. During the past few years the moments with his grand babies smiling, laughing and playing.

No matter where he went he was the first to feed the poor, offer the shoes off his feet, help anyone in need and so humble in his deeds. His bible was never to far from him, he was always offering his prayers, he loved to share the word and he had tremendous faith in Jesus Christ. He is now where he always dreamed he would be, he is finally at peace, now healthy and strong again......
