Obituary

Steven Paul Zimmerman

September 18, 1977 – September 15, 2026

Steven Paul Zimmerman, 48, passed away on September 15, 2026, just three days before his 49th birthday. Born on September 18, 1977, in Arlington, Virginia, Steven later made his home in Clermont, Florida, where he built a life surrounded by the people and things he loved most.

Steven was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, and friend. He was the beloved husband of Heather Michelle Zimmerman and a loving father to Madison Leann Gray, Tiffany Ann-Margaret Adkins, Angela Lynn Zimmerman, Steven Paul Zimmerman Jr., and Emma Faith Zimmerman. He also leaves behind two cherished grandchildren, Tyqei Howze and Tahj Howze.

He was the son of Ida Zimmerman and Frank Zimmerman Sr. Steven is survived by his siblings, Laura Zimmerman-Lilly and Jason Zimmerman. He was preceded in death by his beloved brother, Frank Zimmerman Jr. (“Frankie”).

Steven worked as a Shop Foreman, where he was known for his hard work and dedication. Outside of work, Steven found happiness in the simple things that made life special. He enjoyed smoking different kinds of meat, spending time with his family, watching NASCAR, and, of course, football season. He proudly cheered for his Washington Commanders — Go Commanders!

Those who knew Steven knew that he had a big heart. He loved his family deeply and would bend over backwards to help anyone who needed him. He gave so much of himself to the people around him and never hesitated to lend a hand. His kindness, generosity, laughter, and unconditional love left an imprint on everyone fortunate enough to know him.

Our dad’s time was cut short with us, but our family will forever cherish and hold his memories for the remainder of our lives. We will carry his love with us through every moment, every memory, and every day. He will always be our orange butterfly and our angel, watching over us from above. His love will never leave us, and neither will he.

A Celebration of Life will be held in Virginia at a later date. Details will be announced when arrangements have been finalized.

Forever loved. Forever missed. Forever our dad.
