Steve Gibson was born November 16th, 1949 in Ravenna, Ohio and died March 14th, 2022 in Orlando, Florida.  He was preceded in death by his parents Perry R. and Glenna (Clay) Gibson.  He is survived by his dedicated loving wife Susy, Son Navy Lt. Commander Brian (wife Emily), Grandchildren Kyle & Lyla, Son Jason Gibson, Sister Teresa (husband Charles) Coonley and Niece April Costello.

In 1953 his family moved to Hialeah, Florida.  He graduated from Hialeah High School and then the University of Miami with Honors.  Steve joined the US Army, as had all of his forefathers before him and completed his military duty with the National Guard stationed in Florida.

Steve met his wife Susy by chance in Miami.  He was attending a retirement party and Susy was with her sister at "Happy Hour" after work.  They really did "Bump" into each other by accident!  Susy wasn't wearing her glasses - it was truly a "Blind" date.

Steve was a devoted father and husband.  He coached his boys' soccer teams, taught them to fly remote control planes and how to repair just about anything.  The love he had for his sons grew even greater when he became a Grandfather to Kyle and Lyla.

Steve flew himself frequently from Hialeah to Clermont to visit his parents after they moved there and purchased Clermont Automotive & Tire Center Inc. in 1980.  Steve & Susy moved their family to Clermont from Hialeah in 1989 so Steve could help his Father run the business.  Susy & Steve purchased Clermont Automotive and Tire Inc. from Steve's father in 1994 and they continued to operate, improve and expand the business until December 2021 when they sold to retire.

Steve Gibson was always active in the community.  A member of SLCC, Elks, Masons, National Wildlife Turkey Federation, MARCO Hunting and Fishing Club and many other community organizations.  Steve went out of his way to help his neighbors and friends, looking out for them as is they were his family.  He was an honorable man, a kind, courteous and giving person.  Steve Gibson touched many lives and will always be remembered for his sense of humor, his humble spirit and the tremendous love he had for his family.
