Sophie M. Sanders, also known as Sandra or Mama to those who knew and loved her, has left this earth and been called home by our maker to her place in eternity to be re-united with her loved ones, especially her husband Joe who left her behind on February 20, 2006.  She was born on May 13, 1924 in Chelsea, MA to Polish parents Walcawa and Faustyn Krakowski and they moved to Manchester-by-the-Sea, MA.  Sandra lived there most of her life.  She is pre-deceased by both parents and her sisters, Margie, Frances, Florence, Marilyn "Lindy", and Martha.

She is survived by her brother, Walter, several nieces and nephews, three grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.  She is also survived by her son Robert Foster Gordon and daughter in law Betty Day of Manchester-by-the-Sea, MA.  She also leaves behind her daughter Sandi and son in law Paul Gallant of Clermont, Florida whom she lived with the past several years.

She enjoyed going out to Disney Parks and listening to the live entertainment.  Also just riding in the car looking at the cows, donkeys, and horses in the pastures gave her pleasure.  It was difficult for her to walk, but she just enjoyed being out with her daughter and getting fresh air.  We all loved her and will miss her beyond compare.  She also was a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, Post #113 of Manchester-by-the-Sea, MA.



Funeral services and burial will be private in MA, with the Campbell Funeral Home, 525 Cabot St., Beverly, MA 01915, (978) 922-1113 providing services.
