Shirley Elloff Young, 85, passed away peacefully at the Mike Conley Hospice House in Clermont, Florida on May 30, 2020. Shirley was born on August 6, 1934 in Baltimore, Maryland, the middle child of William and Mabel Elloff.  She graduated from Eastern High School in the Class of 1952. In 1956, she married Ernst Howard Young and enjoyed 64 years of marriage until his passing in 2019.

Shirley was a joyful woman with a gracious heart and radiant smile. She was an affable person and avid traveler, especially fond of sailing to exotic places with Howard. Shirley loved to spend time with her friends, swim, watch Jeopardy, play bingo, and go to the movies. Not many knew she had a poet's heart, loved Simon & Garfunkel and once played a folk guitar.

Shirley is survived by her two children, Robin and Mark Young. Robin currently lives in Clermont and brought great comfort to her mother in her final days. Mark lives with his wife Cheryl in California. Shirley is survived by two grandchildren Christina Michael (Eric) and Emily Young, and three precocious great-grandchildren, Amelie, Luna and Juliet Michael.
