Davenport FL – Shirley Kataro, 84, passed away Friday evening January 7, 2022.

Shirley was born on July 7, 1937 in Salem, Ohio. She was the daughter of the late William F. Werner and Anna Christine (Dorling) Werner.

She was proceeded in death by her husband Tony Kataro Jr., brothers Arthur and Frederick and is survived by her son Steve, daughter Ann (Kevin), brother William R. Werner of Mansfield, OH and many nieces and nephews.

Shirley was a registered nurse for 25 years at the Northern Columbiana County Community Hospital, a 50-year member of the Saxon Lodge Branch 18, The Emmanuel Lutheran Church of Salem and the Woodlands Lutheran Church of Monteverde, FL.

She enjoyed bowling at the Saxon Lanes on her team sponsored by Stamp Feed, playing cards with her Card Club Friends, High School football and basketball games, was an avid reader and enjoyed polka dances and festivals.

Memorial contributions may be made to The Emmanuel Lutheran Church or the Saxon Scholarship Fund.

A private burial will take place at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL alongside her husband Tony.
