Sherman Mahmed Sidkey, 84, Davenport, FL passed away May 15, 2014 at home. He was born September 28, 1929 in Chicago, IL son of Sophie Zubchevich & Emin Sidkey. He served in the US Navy during the Korean Conflict. He worked a number of years in his parent's supermarket in Calumet City, IL, Sidkey's Supermarket, as a butcher prior to retiring from the City of Lansing, IL where he was a truck driver. He was a life member of VFW Post 8141 Calumet City, IL; member American Legion & Master Mason since 1962 AF & AM Triluminar Lodge # 767 State of IL. He was a central Florida resident since 1999 from Lansing. Surviving are his wife of 23 years, Lynne Lucas Sidkey; daughters Lisa (Dale) Odom, Hinesville, GA & Sherri (Rod) Allen, Colorado Springs, CO; step-daughter Lori (Nick) Ilickovich, Munster, IN; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sister Selma (Steve) Knezevich, Tampa; brother Deniz (Charleen) Sidkey, Munster; uncle Omer (Sharon) Zubchevich, Chandler, AZ; nieces, nephews & cousins. Inurnment will take place at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, May 21, 2014 at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell (The procession to the cemetery will leave the funeral home at 9:30 AM) followed by a memorial service at 2:00 PM at Polo Park West Clubhouse.
