Obituary

Sharlynn Kay Spooner Schoonover loved her family and friends more than anything in this world. She loved hunting, fishing, and all things outdoors; however, her love for her husband, children, grandson and family was deeper than the ocean and higher than the peaks of the mountains.

Sharry loved the ponies she rode as a child, and her trips to the Bay Lake Store to receive circus peanuts from Uncle Jimmy and Aunt Thelma. She loved playing "Warrior Princess" with her sisters and cousin Cherie, thereby tying up her cousin Mickie to a tree as the one and only boy in the crowd. She loved Brownies and Girl Scouts and those many camping trips and rodeos she attended. Sharry loved the rabbits;the chickens;the calves; the dogs; and the cats but especially the horses. She loved most any animal that might need love and attention.

Sharry loved the Vacation Bible School at the Bay Lake Baptist Church. She loved the many, many friends she grew up with. Her oldest friend was Wanda Johns. Our home was always open to all friends, and a welcome place for many.

Sharry was raised in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She loved the Lord and the service that was a delight to her. Sharry was a very giving person. She would go to a convenience store, and see a vagrant sitting out in front of the store. She would go in and buy him a carton of milk and a sandwich. She was a very compassionate lady.

Her favorite hymn was "I Am a Child of God" and many others that she would sing to her Grandson, Brantley. She played with him over the "Popcorn" song with gestures that made him laugh. Sharry was a very loving "NINI" to her Grandson, and read many books to him, making sure that he was learning the most important lessons.

Sharry loved her children, Tyler and Paige so very much. When she came home from the hospital with Tyler, her Mom stayed with her to help with the new baby and the inexperienced new Mom. When the teaching week was up, and Sharry felt better, it was time for her Mom to go home. Sharry cried thinking she just could not handle a new baby by her self. Mom reassured her that all would be well, knowing that Mom training was sufficient for the needs of both Sharry and Tyler. Although Mom cried all the way back to Bay Lake, she felt her little bird needed time to begin to fly. And she certainly did fly. She loved her family so very much.

Sharry will be so very missed. Her life working at Winn Dixie and at least two insurance Agencies became her day filled with many friends. She never met a stranger that she didn't like, and they grew to love her too. She loved her friends and co-workers just like sisters. She was a great listener, and would hold her friends in the highest realm.

Sharry was in 4-H and FFA. She had steers, pigs and rabbits that were shown in the Lake County Fair. She loved to help others around her with any problems that might not be able to handle. She was always sharing her knowledge and friendship with all around her.

Sharry was always communicating with her Mom and her Sisters over the phone. She was a night owl, and would often call at 1:00 in the morning, for a one or two hour conversation about the troubles of the world, or who might be a good candidate to vote for and why. She would solve the problems of the world in a matter of a few hours, and you could always trust her decisions.

Her sisters were her best friends, even though she had many others. Her faith in the gospel, and in the Lord carried her through many troubles. Sharry, you will be missed, but you will always be in our hearts and in our memories. Thank you for being...
