Obituary

Sara Frances Gibson Long, 87, graduated to glory Friday, September 9th.  She now lives with her Lord Jesus Christ whom she loved faithfully.  She is survived by two children, Lynda Morgan and husband Dick of Eustis, and William (Bud) Long, Jr. and wife Susan of Fernandina Beach, FL; 5 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.  She was born in Arabi, Ga and lived in Miami from 1938 until her husband's retirement in 1976 when they moved to Clermont.  Fran was a homemaker and a faithful wife to her husband Bud of 66 years.  Fran was a member of Open Door Baptist Church in Clermont, Florida, where she served in the nursery for many years because of her love for young parents.  She was a great mom to her children and was a good keeper of her home.  She loved to sew and cook for her family.  Besides her love for her family, she was a faithful servant of the Lord serving in many capacities that included teaching primary children for many years, singing in the choir, co-leading a Church Training class of children with her husband Bud and helping in benevolence work with grieving and indigent people.  She was a woman of prayer and a student of the Word.

A service of celebration led by Pastor Bruce Stewart and Rev. Bud Long, will be held at Open Door Baptist Church on Wednesday, September 14th at 11AM, with visitation at 10AM.  Interment will be at Oak Hill Cemetery in Clermont.

Becker Family Funeral Home, 806 W, Minneola Av, Clermont, FL, (352) 394-7121, is serving the family.
