Sandra Elnor Simms "Sandy" of Clermont FL passed away surrounded by her family the morning of December 6, 2023. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was born November 23, 1942, to Ernest and Elnor Wright in Baltimore, MD.

Sandy loved traveling, crafting, her cats and spending time with her family. She visited Alaska twice, took cruises, traveled cross country in her beloved motor home and frequently was joined by her children and grandchildren. She and her husband of 62 years, Earl Simms, hosted annual family reunion pool parties at their home in Finksburg, MD which were attended by all the extended family and friends. Christmas was her favorite season of the year, and she always went all out decorating, making cookies and gifting all of her children and grandchildren. Evening wine walks with her daughters and granddaughters in Clermont FL were another of her favorite activities. Her and Earl made each of her granddaughter's large wooden Victorian dollhouses, wooden cradles, ceramic Christmas decorations, rocking cows, benches, tables, chairs and many other items.

Sandy grew up in Baltimore with her three siblings, sisters Cherry Wright, Joyce Whittingham and bother Ernest Wright. After marrying Earl on June 20, 1961, they moved along with their three daughters, Cheryl, Karen and Stephanie to Finksburg MD where they lived until they retired. After retiring they relocated to Clermont FL. Sandy worked 20 years for Sears as a Sales Manager, then as a pharmacy associate for Giant Food and ended her career working for Hello Florida as a field staff.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Elnor Wright of Baltimore, MD. She is survived by her husband Earl Simms, Clermont FL, daughters Cheryl Colvin, Deale MD, Karen Keim, Clermont FL, Stephanie Marders, Clermont FL; grandchildren: Michael Elser, Columbia, MD; Eric Colvin, Myrtle Beach SC; Kristin Colvin, Shady Side MD; Sommer Marders, Clermont FL, Nicholas Keim, Clermont FL; Heather Keim, Clermont FL; great grandchildren: Juliana and Madelyn Elser. Columbia MD; Julien Owens, Shady Side MD, Landon Marders, Clermont Fl and Brady Colvin, Myrtle Beach, SC.
