SANDRA S. (Sandy) MAYS, 72 was received into heaven on December 26, 2010. Sandy was born to Charles and Vivian Brown on January 12, 1938 in Rockford, Illinois.  She met and married her high school sweetheart, Jim Mays on February 16, 1957.  The couple and their three children, Scott, Jodie, and Mike, relocated from Rockford to Central Florida in 1971.  They were blessed with their first grandchild, Megan Shaw, born to daughter Jodie, and son-in-law, Butch Shaw, on November 24, 1984.  A second grandchild, Manning "Scott" Shaw, was born on July 2, 1993.  In 2005 after Jim retired, they built a home in Sorrento, Florida.  Along with their Labrador, Max, the couple enjoyed the quiet, away from the city style of living that Sorrento offered.  Sandy was a retired homemaker who attended Powers Drive Baptist Church in Orlando, Florida.  She had a full circle of friends with whom she has shared many years of fellowship. The sorrow we feel at the sudden passing of this beautiful lady, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend is indescribable.  Please join us for a celebration of Sandy's life on January 8, 2011 at the Powers Drive Baptist, 3311 North Powers Drive in Orlando, Florida.  The memorial service will begin at 11:00 a.m.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Orlando.











The memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, January 8, 2011 at Powers Drive Baptist Church. Reverend Dr. Jerald Hicks will officiate. The family suggests memorial contributions to MD Anderson Orlando Cancer Center for pancreatic cancer research.
