Sandra B. Eckstein
(September 28, 1939 - November 27, 2025)

Sandra B. Eckstein age 86, passed away November 27, 2025 in Clermont, Florida where she and her husband Gregory resided since 2003.  Sandra was born to James and Vera Swinbanks, and raised in Chicago, IL.  She attended St. Anne's School of Nursing in Chicago, IL and graduated in 1960.  Sandra meet her husband, Gregory T. Eckstein, in Chicago where he attended Loyola University Stritch School of Medicine.  Sandra and Gregory were married October 20, 1962.  After Gregory left the Army they moved to McHenry, IL in 1968 where Gregory practiced medicine. Sandra assisted Gregory with his private practice. Sandra and Gregory moved to Florida in 1996 when Gregory became  the Medical Director of Humana Military Healthcare Services. After retiring in 2002, Sandra and Gregory moved to Clermont, FL. While enjoying their 53 years of marriage, Sandra and Gregory filled their retirement days by traveling the world, being very active in the Catholic Church and the Clermont community. Sandra was passionate for everything gardening. She was an esteemed member of both the Florida Federation of Garden Clubs and the Clermont Garden Club.  Sandra enjoyed reading and politics also. Sandra was a strong willed but kind and generous person. Her strong faith and knowledge of her faith never failed her.  She liked to discuss her faith throughout her life right to the end.

She is survived by her two sons, Gregory Thomas Eckstein, Jr. of Apopka, FL and Michael Patrick Eckstein (Ann) of McHenry, IL.  She has two grandsons in McHenry, IL Bennett and Reese Eckstein.

Arrangements are:

A Mass of the Resurrection will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, December 10, 2025 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, Clermont FL.  Interment will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery, Clermont, FL.  Visitation will be from 5 to 7 PM Tuesday, December 9, 2025 at Becker Funeral Home.
