IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Sally Sue
Bernoir
December 30, 1942 – October 6, 2020
Sally (Singleton) Bernoir of Mascotte, Florida went home to Heaven on October 6, 2020 at the age of 77. She was born in Toledo, Ohio to parents Clarence and Vivian Singleton. She graduated from Waite High School in Toledo, Ohio and she married the love of her life, Bill Bernoir. In 1988 they relocated to Florida.
When asked what her childhood dreams were, she said she only dreamed of becoming a wife and mother. She not only was the mother of four biological children in addition to countless foster children as well.
She touched lives wherever she went. Perhaps never more evident as when she was a school bus monitor for the Lake County School Board, specializing in the handicapped division. The support and love she shared with those children and their parents shaped their lives and gave meaning to her own life.
She was a pastor's wife at Mascotte Church for many years and became a guiding force of love and inspiration in the lives of all who met her. She fought bravely for five long years against a relentless enemy, cancer. She was full of determination to beat it and had faith that anything was possible.
Perhaps her greatest legacy will be that she was a gardener of relationships. She always added friends to her family and made it a point to maintain those relationships. She was always making phone calls and writing letters to stay connected, even at the end of her days when it became difficult. Her love of family and friends will live on in each person she knew, throughout her life.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Vivian Singleton; brothers, Jack Singleton and Milt Singleton; sisters, Darlene Smith and Nancy Myers; and her son, Keith Bernoir.
She is survived by her husband, Bill Bernoir; her children, Bill (Lashell) Bernoir, Angela Bernoir and Kevin (Lori) Bernoir; grandchildren, Jessica (Phillip) McDaniel, Aurilion (Kimberly) Cooper, Renee (Damon) Faulkner, Christopher (Jessica) Bernoir, Faith Bernoir, Kellee Bernoir, Haley Bernoir, Samantha Bernoir, Seth Bernoir, Vance Bernoir and Guy Bernoir; great grandchildren, Phillip, Zachary, Arianna, Trenton, Logan, Cameron, Drake, Eli and Tiffany Chaves and her sister Shirley Thompson.
Visitation will be held at Becker Funeral Home in Clermont, Florida on Monday, October 12, 2020 from 5:30pm to 8:30pm. Funeral services will be held at The Mascotte Church in Mascotte, Florida on Tuesday, October 13, 2020 at 11:00am.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations to Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center or Cure Autism Now Foundation.
