Ruth Agnes Monzillo went home to the Lord on September 23, 2023, after a short illness. She was married to the late Charles J. Monzilo for 67 years, daughter to Orman and Agnes Whitmore and mother to Nancy Humbyrd, Susan (Henry) Smith and Keith Monzillo.  Ruth was Grandmother to Laurie Simmer, Tammy Smith, Kevin Smith, Krista Turano and Jason Fairservice.  Great Grandchildren, Triston, Conor, Rebecca, Lily, Kira, Emma, Ethan, Mackenzie and Charley were blessed to have known and been loved by her.

Ruth loved adventure and she and Charlie were always planning trips.  They spent many years traveling the US in motor homes and cruising nearly every continent.  Each and every day they spent together was an adventure. They were truly life partners.

Ruth was a great supporter of Dad's vocation in the fire services and wherever it took Dad, she was there to cheer him on.  Dad was the dreamer and Mom stayed in the background and made those dreams come true.

After retirement and traveling full time, they returned to Clermont where they made a forever home in Kings Ridge and Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church where she served on many committees in the community as well as the church.

In Mom's younger days she was an avid skier but upon retirement and the "big" move to Florida she joined golf clubs and proceeded to acquire three holes in one

Ruth was proud of being a home maker and was quick to make any stranger welcome to her home.  She was a loving parent who always put family first, taught us the power of the Holy Spirit and knew Jesus Christ as her personal Savior.

We will remember her with great love.

Funeral Services will be held Thursday, September 28, 2023, 10am at Shepherd in the Hills Lutheran Church.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, September 27, 2023 from 2-4pm and from 7-9pm.

Interment will take place at Florida National Cemetery at a later date.
