Ruth Eileen "Mama Leen" Holt, 76, of Clermont, FL passed away Monday, September 20, 2021.  Mama Leen was born on February 18, 1945 in Brooker, Florida, daughter of the late Bennie and Elizabeth (nee Grohman) Thomas.  While attending Sante Fe High School she met Bud, her husband of 49 years, who preceded her in death in 2011.   After their marriage they settled in Ocala and raised their family with Mama Leen working as a school bus driver.  She and Bud moved to Summerville, SC and lived there for some time prior to moving to Clermont in 1998.  While living in Clermont, Mama Leen became an active member of the First Baptist Church of Clermont and was part of a group of women known as the "Sistas".  She also worked for many years at Kim E's Flowers in Groveland before her health wouldn't allow it.

Mama Leen was a "Country Girl" at heart, with a vibrant, youthful personality and often referred to herself as "Just a wrinkled teenager".

Mama Leen is survived by her sons, Jim "Scooter" Holt of Clermont and Thomas "Chad" Holt and wife Sherri of Summerville, SC; sister, Jeanette Corbitt of Lake City, FL; 7 grandchildren, Chance, Brittany, Jenna, Ryan, Bryce, Brennen and Brady and 6 great grandchildren.  Along with her parents and husband she was also preceded in  death by her son, Michael "Andy" Holt in 2009.

The family suggests in lieu of flowers memorials in Mama Leen's name to a charity of your choice.
