Obituary
Rufus Herman Rhames, age 73, Clermont, passed away August 3, 2017 at home. He was born December 12, 1943 in Overstreet, FL son of the late Annie Mae Collins & Ernest Councilor Rhames. While in the US Navy he met the love of his life Mary Louise DePriest and they were united marriage on April 23, 1963 in Brawley, CA. He was a local resident since 1984 from Port St. Joe, Florida and worked for Diversified Lifting in Tampa. His son John Brian Rhames preceded him in death at age 18 months, the result of a tragic accident. Surviving are his wife Mary Louise; children Donald E. Rhames & Laura Mae Rhames Griffin; grandchildren Walter Casey Griffin, Christina Rhames & Matthew Gene Rhames & his fiancé Elizabeth Grant; great-grandchildren Austin & Luke & sisters Edna Strange & Mildred Crow.
