Roy Richard Roberts Jr. (Rick) passed away on December 7th, 2023.  He was a beloved husband, son, father, brother, papa, uncle, cousin and friend. He leaves behind the legacy of living life to the fullest and dedicating his life to his family. His warm heart and soul will be missed by many.
Rick was born on August 28, 1949 in Enid, Oklahoma to the late Roy Richard Roberts and Peggy Jo Roberts. He went to high school at Spring Branch Senior High School in Houston, Texas and graduated from the University of Texas in 1972. He then went into the family-owned business with his father and brothers at Motor Home Sales in Oklahoma. The family moved the business to Clermont, Florida while he pursued his self-employed business in Oklahoma. There he also was a high school football referee for many years. In 1997, he moved to Clermont to continue the family business. In 2005 Rick and his wife Bobbie established a blueprinting business in Clermont, Florida and have become a big part of the community.
Within the community, he spent many years with South Lake Little League baseball where he also coached his sons team. He always wanted to be a part of the community and sports. He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed playing golf. He loved motivating his children and grandchildren toward success in their varied talents. He has always had a gentle yet stern way of giving advice and many would call him a great mentor. He was your man when you needed a little sense in life or just an ear. He was always a jokester, loved conversation, telling stories and making people laugh. His humor had no boundaries, his goofiness and quick wit will always be remembered.  His true dedication to his family and friends was limitless and his easy-going attitude was always inviting. He loved with everything he had, and nothing meant more to him than spending time with loved ones.
He is Survived by his wife Bobbie Roberts and his children Kristen Roberts and Richard Roberts and Kim & Mike Woodward (stepchildren) 9 step grandchildren and 7 step great-children.  Siblings: Pete Roberts, Cindy Roberts, Tony Roberts, (proceed in death) Mike Roberts. With many nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, December 16, 2023, 11am, at Becker Funeral Home.  Interment will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Clermont.  A Visitation will be held Friday, December 15, 2023, from 5pm until 8pm at Becker Funeral Home.
A celebration of life will be held at the Roberts residence immediately following. Let us reflect on the wonderful memories that we have and the laughter and love that he gave us during this time and to continue for the rest of our lives.
