Obituary

Rosemary Diane Demeree went to be with Jesus on August 9, 2023. She was surrounded by loved ones including her husband, Kenneth (Skip) Demeree of 57 years, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Diane was an extraordinary, intelligent, loving, welcoming, talented, grace-filled, beautiful, Christian woman whose presence will be greatly missed by her family, friends, church, and community members.

Diane and Skip met at a high school dance and were married in 1966 in Manlius, NY at their grandparents' farmhouse. Diane was born in January of 1948, the oldest daughter of her parents (predeceased) Emily and Frederick Lawrence of DeRuyter, NY and is predeceased by her brothers, Fred, and Ron Lawrence. She is survived by her sisters, Kay (Steve), Wendy, Vicki (Kevin) and brother Gary (MaryJo) and sisters-in-laws, Rosemary, and Chris, and many nieces and nephews.  Diane graduated in 1966 from DeRuyter Central Schools where she finished at the top of her class and was active in many clubs including cheerleading, basketball, volleyball, soccer, marching band, softball, student counsel, and girl's chorus.

After marrying Skip, the couple moved to Homer, NY where they began to raise their family and build their life together.  Throughout their long, blessed marriage, they lived in several homes built by Skip and his company, Demeree Construction. Diane actively participated in her church (Homer Congregational), her community, and local school district. In addition to raising her children and managing the responsibilities of the family business, Diane also worked in many roles outside the home while residing in New York including the Cortlandville Town Clerk and Homer Schools District Business Office. During her residence in Cortland County, Diane enjoyed cooking, sewing, gardening, crafting, homemaking, volunteering, babysitting, hosting gatherings in her home, and serving as a deacon in her church.

Before moving to Lake County Florida, Diane and Skip frequently visited Vacation Village on Route 27 in Clermont during the winter months.  They first moved to Florida in 1983 and permanently in 1994 and have lived in several homes designed by Diane, located in Clermont and Groveland where they currently reside. After moving to the area, Diane worked at Lake County Schools in the Business office and was adored by her coworkers, peers, and students who frequented the Guidance Office.  Diane retired from Lake County Schools in 2014.  Diane faithfully supported her husband's construction business behind the scenes right up to her passing.  She was a member of the Living Hope Church (formerly FUMC) of Clermont and supported many charities in the community.

Diane is survived by her husband, Skip Demeree, their seven children and spouses: Tamara (Karl Lindhorst), Cheryl, Charlene (Randy Ames), Maureen (Tommy Mydlo), Kimberly (John Bush), Ann (Clay Rector), and Steven (Kristi Demeree). God has blessed them richly with 43 grandchildren: John, Brad, Emma, Madison, Erich, Thena, Kelsey, Dalton, Brittany, Keegan, Emily, Adam, Matt, Brittany, Kurtis, Angel, Whitney, Keith, Demeree, Troy, Stevanna, Garrett, Kenny, Jacob, Darcie, Travis, Brooke, Sara, Carlon, Eli, Jake, Hunter, MacKayla, Jonathan, Delaney, Wyatt, Ashley, Waylon, William, Wade, Austin, Ella and Carter.
